The G3 Network: Telco-Grade Calling Platform

The G3 Networks' POP in Miami, FL consists of two redundant computer telephony platforms interconnected via a high-speed SONET voice/data network. Each node has interconnected port clusters for both voice and data. G3 Networks houses a fiber optic OC-48 POP for Bell South with entrance facilities to a variety of carriers including AT&T, Qwest Communications and Worldcom. The facility is in a secure, raised floor environment supported by UPS power with diesel backup and a full fire suppression system. This is not outsourced to a third party colocation operator like many of our competitors, this facility is owned and managed by a team of G3 Networks executives.

Every PSTN application call hits a trunk group allocated to these nodes. In the event of a fire, fiber cut, or other service interruption at one site, all ports at that site will appear busy to the carrier and the call will be re-presented to the other site, G3 Networks' Miami node has never been off-line in its three year history and our secondary backup site in NY is expected to launch in 2Q2002.

Network diversity is also extended to carrier access. We access multiple telecom carrier voice and IP networks via a variety of technologies and speeds including DS3-level bandwidth and ISDN diverse backup. Our staff in the GNOC can make routing instruction changes via the network management console with as little as 15 minutes notice. In the event that a carrier experiences an outage, traffic can be moved to another carrier without interruption via customer preset instructions or G3 manual intervention.

Tours of our facility are encouraged and available upon request. Please contact your G3 sales representative to schedule a visit.
